This Was A War Dance

I am walking. I am alive.

I am warm. I am here.

Now.

I forgot where I went.

For a moment,

I was day dreaming.

We were dancing together.

You held your flower

While I held mine.

In sync to the drums,

We danced after victory

On the battlefield was won.

This was a war dance.

The kind you stomp to

When victory reigns down.

Then

We chose peace.

We chose love.

Find Me. Bring Me Back Home.

I wander aimfully in search

A fragment here

and here

I am here

Amidst the storm

Chaos composed of calm

Calm composed of chaos

Find me

Bring me back home

Search. Be brave enough to find yourself. What we are seeking is without doubt, seeking us in return. Be brave enough to bring yourself back. Be braver yet to have a safe place for your pieces to come home to.

Two Spirit

I am both He and She, the masculine and the feminine.  I am and I am not, neither created nor destroyed.  I float between the hierarchy and the matriarchy, ruler of both worlds. It is I you find in all that you are.

Lightning

These three redwood trees became one because of a lightning strike. Where one tree split, a heart shaped scar remains. Over the course of years, the two trees next to it allowed the broken one to become a part of them, inevitably becoming one.

It was on this night, the great schism of outer and inner occurred.

Grace

"Grace" 11 x 14 watercolor

This is the pinnacle of life. I wake up and the mirror does not scare me. I face it with an air that says I am proud of the stories I see walking across my skin. I am proud of the home I have made in my bones. I wake up and I am not afraid of what I am and that is all I have ever wanted.

New Beginnings

Whenever I see the robin, I know spring is finally here. It's when the earth starts her exhalation, it's when the sleeping world opens its eyes to the new beginnings.

Many times in life we are challenged with things, perhaps challenges that bring to the surface the very things we have long since buried. The robin reminds us to address these issues (or they will continue to repeat themselves until we allow renewal to occur). It reminds us that in order to make room for the new, we must shed away the old. We cannot internally evolve at our absolute core if we do not allow these layers to be stripped away. Instead of resisting the transition, flow with it. It brings forth a better version of our true selves. In turn, as a collective conscious, we all become better.
